Day 1 - Sunday - Rome
Upon arrival, check into your hotel set amid restaurants, shops, sights. Enjoy lunch and the afternoon at leisure. Tonight a welcome dinner at a local restaurant and an introduction to your tour escort.
Overnight Hotel Cicerone 4 Star or similar.

Day 2 - Monday - Rome
After breakfast you’ll have a tour of Rome including such classical sights as the Trevi Fountain, Lungotevere, Castle of St. Angelo and St. Peter’s Basilica. Afternoon, evening and dinner is at leisure.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 3 – Tuesday - Rome to Florence
After breakfast, you’ll depart for Florence, ‘Cradle of the Renaissance’ crossing some of Italy’s most beautiful regions, including Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany, before arriving in Florence at approximately noon. In the early afternoon, a local guide will introduce you to Giotto’s Bell Tower, Piazza Della Signoria, and many other timeless highlights.

Day 4 - Wednesday - Florence to Stresa/Baveno/
Lake Maggiore
After breakfast, depart for the Lombardia region continuing to Stresa/Baveno, two quaint, picturesque towns on Lake Maggiore, where you’ll spend two nights. Lake Maggiore is one of Italy’s most beautiful lakes known for its splendid climate and sightseeing.
Dinner & overnight at Milan Speranza Hotel Au Lac 4 Star or similar.

Day 5 - Thursday - Stresa/Baveno/Lake Maggiore/ Excursion to Lugano, Switzerland
Breakfast is followed by a day-long excursion into the Alps and Switzerland. Skirting Lake Maggiore, you’ll pass Pallanza, Intra and Ghiffa before reaching Lugano where you can enjoy leisure time for lunch, shopping the elegant boutiques of Via Nassa, or walking by the magnificent Civic Park. Return to Stresa/Baveno later in the afternoon. Dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 6 - Friday - Stresa/Baveno to Verona & Venice
Breakfast is followed by departure for Verona, one of Italy’s most fascinating cities featuring a wide array of monuments and historic buildings, such as Romeo and Juliet’s traditional balcony and the Roman Theatre. Depart for Venice, boasting an incredible number of churches, piazzas, historical buildings, canals, restaurants & shops.
Dinner & overnight at Hotel Plaza Venezia- Mestre 4 Star or similar.

Day 7 - Saturday - Venice
After breakfast, you’ll take a private boat across the Giudecca Canal to Piazza San Marco to meet a local expert for a guided walking tour of the city, taking in the Palace of the Doges, the Bridge of Sighs and many other highlights, concluding at a glass factory. The afternoon is free for an optional visit to Murano and Burano, or to explore on your own.
Dinner at leisure & overnight at hotel.

Day 8 - Sunday - Venice to Siena
After breakfast, depart for the Tuscany region and Siena, a stunning city of art and history. Lunch at leisure followed by a city tour: the marvelous cathedral, the gothic Municipal Palace and the Piazza del Campo, site of the ‘Palio di Siena,’ a horse race between various city districts dating to 1656.
Dinner & overnight: Hotel Garden in Siena 4 Star or similar.

Day 9 - Monday - Siena to Assisi & Rome
After breakfast, depart for Assisi, world famous home to St. Francis. You'll visit the Basilica to see Giotto's paintings and enjoy a panoramic view of the medieval city. Next, you're off to Rome.
Dinner is at leisure. Overnight Hotel Cicerone 4 Star or similar.

Day 10 - Tuesday - Rome
After breakfast you’ll be transferred to Rome Fiumicino Airport where you’ll board your return flight to Toronto if flying with ALBATours on Alitalia.
