Day 1, Sunday - Venice
Upon arrival, check into hotel. Lunch and afternoon at leisure. Tonight, a welcome dinner with music at the Taverna dei Dogi. Overnight at Hotel Belle Epoque 3 Star or similar.
Day 2, Monday - Venice
After breakfast, 3-hour tour of Venice including St. Mark¿s Square, the Palace of the Doges and the Cathedral. Lunch, the afternoon and dinner is at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3, Tuesday - Venice: Excursion to Villa Sandi
After breakfast, you¿ll depart on a full day excursion to Valdobbiadene and Prosecco wine country including a visit to the sparkling Palladian-style Villa Sandi for a tasting and peek at their cellars. Next, a really wonderful 3-course lunch at the Restaurant Locanda Sandi followed by a short stop at Treviso prior to returning to your Venice hotel (via coach and boat). Dinner at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4, Wednesday - Venice to Tuscany Region
After breakfast, you'll head to Tenuta Bonzara Winery in the Bologna area for a tasting of Lambrusco (accompanied by parmesan and cold cuts). Then on to your hotel in the Tuscany Region near Siena. Dinner & overnight at Hotel La Loggia 3 Star or similar.
Day 5, Thursday - The Chianti area
After breakfast, a morning visit to the villages of Greve and Castellina. A light lunch of cold cuts, cheese and bruschette will accompany a tasting of 3 wines at Querceto Estate/Winery followed by a visit to Radda and a return to your hotel early evening. Dinner & overnight at hotel.
Day 6, Friday - San Gimignano & Siena
After breakfast, a visit to San Gimignano at leisure followed by a light lunch and wine tasting at Fattoria San Donato. Next, a guided tour of Siena including the Cathedral, Piazza del Campo and the city centre, then time at leisure for shopping and exploring. Return to your hotel early evening. Dinner & overnight at hotel.
Day 7, Saturday - Siena to Florence
After breakfast, board your escorted private coach for a guided tour of Florence including the Cathedral Complex, Piazza della Signoria & Ponte Vecchio. Lunch at leisure. Dinner & overnight at hotel.
Day 8, Sunday - Florence to Rome
After breakfast, off to Rome with a short visit and lunch at leisure in Orvieto. Upon arrival in Rome, check into your hotel. Rest of day, dinner and evening at leisure. Overnight at Hotel Parco dei Medici 4 Star or similar.
Day 9, Monday - Rome
After breakfast, a 3-hour guided tour of Rome including the Colosseum (outside), Lungotevere, Castle of St. Angelo, St. Peter¿s Basilica and much more! Lunch, the afternoon, dinner and evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10, Tuesday - Rome to Sorrento
After breakfast, depart for Sorrento including a stop in Pompeii and a guided tour of the excavations. Lunch at leisure followed by arrival at your centrally located Sorrento hotel. Balance of day and dinner at leisure. Overnight at Hotel Conca Park 4 Star or similar.
Day 11, Wednesday - The Amalfi Coast
After breakfast, a full day excursion along the Amalfi Coast including a panoramic tour of Positano and Ravello with a stop in Amalfi for lunch at leisure. A visit and wine tasting at Fattoria La Sorgente along the Amalfi Coast follows. Return to hotel early evening. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 12, Thursday - Sorrento
After breakfast, the morning and lunch are at leisure to explore. This afternoon, a class at Sorrento¿s Cooking School at The Esperidi Resort followed by dinner based on courses prepared in your lesson. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13, Friday - Sorrento to Rome Airport
After breakfast, transfer to Rome Fiumicino Airport for your return flight to Toronto if flying with ALBATours on Alitalia.
