Day 1 - Sunday - Rome
Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Enjoy lunch and the afternoon at leisure. Tonight a welcome dinner at a local restaurant and an introduction to your tour escort. Overnight: Grand Hotel Beverly Hills or similar.

Day 2 - Monday - Rome
After breakfast your city tour begins featuring St. Peter's Basilica (inside) and a panoramic tour by coach includes classic sites such as the Lungotevere, Castle of St. Angelo and Trevi Fountain. Afternoon, evening and dinner is at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3 - Tuesday - Rome to Florence
After breakfast, you’lldepart for Florence,‘Cradle of the Renaissance’, across some of Italy’s most beautiful regions, including Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany before arriving in Florence at approximately noon. In the early afternoon, a localguide will introduce you to Giotto’s Bell Tower, Piazza Della Signoria, and many other timeless highlights. Dinner & overnight: Hotel NH Firenze or similar.

Day 4 Wednesday - Florence to Venice
After breakfast, depart for Venice and check-in at Hotel Bonvecchiati or similar. Enjoy leisure time for lunch and personal discoveries. In the afternoon, you’ll take a private boat across the Giudecca Canal to Piazza San Marco where you will meet up with a local expert for a guided walking tour of the city, taking in the Palace of the Doges (outside), the Bridge of Sighs and many other highlights, wrapping up at a glass factory. Free time for dinner on your own before heading back to the hotel.

Day 5 - Thursday Venice to Verona and Stresa/Baveno/Lake Maggiore
Breakfast is followed by a visit to Verona, one of Italy’s most fascinating cities, which offers a wide array of monuments and historic buildings, such as Romeo and Juliet’s balcony and the Roman Theatre. After that it is on to Stresa, a quaint, picturesque town on the banks of Lake Maggiore, which boasts incredible number of churches, piazzas, historical buildings, canals, restaurants & shops. Dinner and overnight at the Grand Hotel Dino (in Baveno)

Day 6 - Friday - Stresa/Baveno/Lake Maggiore with an excursion to Lugano, Switzerland
After breakfast you’ll depart on a daylong excursion into the Alps and Switzerland. Skirting Lake Maggiore, you’ll pass Pallanza, Intra and Ghiffa before reaching Lugano, where you
can enjoy leisure time shopping in the elegant boutiques of Via Nassa or walking by the magnificent Civic Park. Return to Stresa/Baveno later in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at
your hotel.

Day 7 - Saturday - Saturday Stresa/Baveno/Lake Maggiore to Milan and Siena
You’ll have breakfast at the hotel and then depart for Milan for a panoramic tour by bus before moving on to Siena, passing through the beautiful landscapes of Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany regions. Arrive in Siena and check in at the NH Hotel Excelsior or similar for dinner and overnight.

Day 8 - Sunday - Siena with excursion to San Gimignano and Chianti
After breakfast, head out on a guided tour across the beautiful hills of Chianti, stopping first in San Gimignano, a picturesque, medieval town that is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour will then move on to the Chianti area and lunch at a wine estate where you will get to sample the region’s best red wine while enjoying a light lunch. Afterwards you will return to Siena to enjoy a walking tour of the city, admiring such sites as the Duomo (outside) and the magnificent square known as Il Campo, where twice a year the Palio race takes place.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 9 - Monday - Siena to Assisi & Rome
After breakfast, depart for Assisi, world-famous home to St. Francis. You'll visit the Basilica to see Giotto's paintings and enjoy a panoramic view of the medieval city. Next, you're off to Rome. Dinner is at leisure. Overnight: Grand Hotel Beverly Hills or similar.

Day 10 - Tuesday - Rome to Naples, Pompeii & Sorrento
After breakfast, depart for Naples. A short drive across this famous city, known as the capital of the ‘Kingdom of Two Sicilies,’ introduces you to Mergellina, Lungomare Caracciolo, Castel Dell’Ovo and il Maschio Angioino. Next, to Pompeii for a guided afternoon tour of the archaeological excavations of this Roman city, destroyed and buried by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD and rediscovered at the end of the 16th century. Then to Sorrento. Dinner & overnight: Hotel Conca Park or similar.

Day 11 - Wednesday - Sorrento, with an excursion to the Isle of Capri
After breakfast, transfer to the ferry and cross to the Isle of Capri, famous since Roman times and favourite vacation spot of the Emperor Tiberius. Arrive at the port of Marina Grande and take the mini-bus or funicular to La Piazzetta. Lunch is included and there’s leisure time to explore. Return to Sorrento in the afternoon. Dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 12 - Thursday - Sorrento
Breakfast at the hotel, then the day, dinner and evening at leisure in Sorrento. Perhaps you’ll take an optional tour of the Amalfi Coast today? Overnight at hotel.

Day 13 - Friday - Sorrento, Montecassino, Roman Countryside (Castelli Romani)
After breakfast, you’ll head toward the Roman Countryside and the lovely small villages south of Rome (Castelli Romani). There’s a stop at Montecassino, the largest WWII
cemetery in Italy, containing over 4,200 grave markers, including those of 855 Canadian soldiers. Dinner & overnight at Hotel Villa Vecchia or similar.

Day 14 - Saturday - Roman Countryside (Castelli Romani)
A day amid the small villages known as Castelli, popular vacation spots for both Italians and visitors for the landscape, art, local cuisine and good wine! First Castelgandolfo and its palace (summer residence of the Pope), and Lake Albano and Lake Nemi. Next, Grottaferrata and a visit to the Abbey. Wineries follow with wine tastings accompanied by cheese and cold meats. Dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 15 - Sunday - Roman Countryside to Rome Airport
After an early breakfast, transfer to Rome Fiumicino Airport for your return flight to Toronto if flying with ALBATours on Alitalia
